2021-2022 NMDC Ambassadors
Lisa Karstens @lisakarstens Dr. Lisa Karstens is an Assistant Professor at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in the Division of Bioinformatics and Computational Biomedicine and the Division of Urogynecology. She received her Ph.D. from Princeton University in Chemistry and conducted postdoctoral training at OHSU in Bioinformatics and Urogynecology. Dr. Karstens’ research interests broadly span using bioinformatics to understand the complex relationship between the human microbiome and disease, with a focus on women’s health and bladder disorders. Her current research includes development of bioinformatic tools and novel multi-omic approaches to improve the clinical utility of microbiomes. I’m looking forward to learning how to empower others to increase the usability and accessibility of microbiome data. |
