The NMDC roadmap
A roadmap for advancing microbiome sciences
Empower the research community to harness microbiome data exploration and discovery through a collaborative integrative data science ecosystem.
|The long-term vision of the NMDC is to support microbiome data exploration through a sustainable data discovery platform that promotes open science and shared-ownership across a broad and diverse community of researchers, funders, publishers, societies, and other Collaborators (see the NMDC Code of Conduct). Towards this vision, the NMDC Roadmap outlines our strategic priorities for Infrastructure and Engagement. To support this shared long-term scientific vision of microbiome science, the NMDC mission is to work with the community to iteratively develop and pilot an integrated, open source microbiome data ecosystem that leverages existing resources and enables comprehensive access to multidisciplinary microbiome data and standardized, reproducible data products. The NMDC will accomplish this mission and advance microbiome science by supporting:|
|One vision united by two strategic priorities|
